Vision

Hi everyone, I hope you have been fine. time indeed just flies. We have approached the third quarter of the year and just like me, you are reviewing your list of resolutions for the year, to evaluate your accomplishments so far. It was just the other day I made the last post and have also been looking forward to this moment to join you again. The title of the blog is clearly a question that this blog attempts to answer. This blog tries to bring the word down to us, our current outlook on life, prophesy, and especially the word and how we ought to lead our lives despite the waves of life. In answering this question, It is my prayer for all that the word finds root in us. There is only one teacher, one master that instructs us all. We will taste him and see His goodness, mercies and love as explained in His word and testified by all creation. Its my prayer that many will find their way to the light in doing this.

Back to resolutions
As the end of this month came, I would ask myself this question. How far have I gone with the resolutions I made at the beginning of the year? What did I expect when I made these resolutions? The very question may be ringing in your mind. Some may be asking, am I a better person than who I think I was last year? I think the more important question is this, Why am I still here? What would God have me do? Is it still possible for me to live for God and not for my own self? It is God’s will that you are reading along with me and yes, He does have a purpose. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Are you at a loss as regards to what to do? Is it hard to find a way back home? How many times have you cried? Do you feel like you have been through fire?

Getting tedious?
We need a spring in our steps to break the cycle of getting beat up, feeling left out and so forth. The same measure that you give out to people is the same you get. Something wonderful happens when one shares with others in the word. All we need to know is that God is seated on the throne with lots of glory in which believers share. If you share your faith, people will make fun of you, turn their back on you, run away from you. If you are living godly, you will suffer persecution. People of the world will despise you and throw parties when you die. Speak boldly and care enough to speak truth and hold back nothing. If you are sharing about Christ, you will be beat up, emotionally, physically, verbally, ostracised, not invited to the party. If your Christianity is getting a little tedious, what you need to do is witness. There is nothing like sharing your faith. No matter how deep in the gutter, you will be revived, caught up in heavenly places, you will find yourself encouraged greatly. If you want to be caught up, then its not about what you are understanding, its about sharing with others. Otherwise you will stagnate, and statistically, we already know what happens afterwards. God knows that even though it may be dangerous, if you share, there will be revival . It’s  my prayer for you all that we might be about loving, truly caring. Ask God to empower you to take advantage of the blessings He have already given you and see others rise up with you Him.

Vision of God.
This is the reality. God exists and the Cherubim are around His throne. They are amazing creatures, each with four faces; one of a man, a lion, ox and eagle, with eyes all over and six wings. Ezekiel 1. These Cherubim do not rest  but say, Holy Holy Holy, they are super intelligent creatures with many eyes. The more you see, the more vision you have been given. Their eyes, have finally found One who is truly Holy, who was, and is and is yet to come. What they see we can’t, all they say is an infinite Holy. There is nothing as beautiful as holiness. Holiness brings satisfaction. Its holiness that causes true ecstasy. They just can’t take their eyes off Him. The beasts give glory and honour and so do the 24 elders who take their crowns off and worship Him.. These amazing creatures keep in mind, may look unreal in this unreal world. When we get there, we are going to see them. In this world, the more you see, the more disillusioned you become. Earth is a shadow. The reality, the substance is in heaven. These 4 faces correspond to the gospels. These Four Faces appear again only in Revelation 4, where they signify the dominant aspect of the character of Christ revealed in each of the Four Gospels in their proper canonical order.
How God views the Believers
God declares in Numbers 1 that  around the Tabernacle on the north, south, east and west sides, right around the tabernacle were to be encamped the Levites. The priests came from the tribe of Levi. Whenever you serve God, you tend to be camped out to His glory. And when you serve self, you get emptier. On each side were to have 3 tribes, on the east side is the camp of Judah who had the symbol of a Lion. Christ will come back from the east. It had 186400. On the west side was the camp of Ephraim with 108000 with the Ox as the symbol. On the camp on the south was Reuben 151400 and the symbol has always been the symbol of a man’s face. On the North was the Camp of Dan whose symbol was an eagle. 157600. If you draw that accurately on a piece of paper, you will see it form a cross. When Baalam was hired to curse the Israelites by Balak, he went ahead to curse them even after the donkey spoke, because he knew the Israelites were sinful. He goes to a high mountain to look down on the encampments. The encampment from what he saw looked like a cross but all that came out was a blessing. When God looks down at us, He sees the cross. When we are here, we murmur, fail to do what we should, and we have all kinds of faults and failures. All He desires to is bless His people who are hidden in the cross. Even as Baalam who wanted to curse them for all their sin, he saw the people in light of the cross. He could not help but bless them. Not one person can bring any curse upon whom God sees His son’s righteousness. God sees His people covered by the Lamb’s blood and that’s amazing. No matter what the people of the world see in you, this is How God sees you from His throne.

God is light
God says, forget it, I have forgotten it. You have overcome by the blood. God will keep blessing you by the testimony of unmerited, unearned, undeserved grace. The command of God is this, He has given you everything on the earth. And God saw that it was good. He gave it all. Avocados, pineapples, mangoes, right from the beginning! He wants you to have a good things. He has given us all things freely! He didn’t give you pills to swallow every now and then.  If you guys are evil, yet you know how to give your children gifts, how much more would  your father? He holds back nothing that is good for you from you. We are the light of the world. He is the sun and we are the moon
The Full Moon.
During a clear night time sky, it is possible to see the stars and the moon. The moon is the guardian of the night and can be seen from the earth as full, half, quarter, or new moon depending on the amount of light that the moon reflects on the earth. A man who lets his lights shine is like a full moon. The more the earth’s shadow covers the moon, the less light it emits. During an eclipse, the world diminishes the light of the moon. The more the moon moves towards the world, the more diminished it’s light shall be. How full is your moon?
Time budget.
The accuser of the brethren who has been overcome through grace continues to condemn the believer so as to take him away from God. His voice tells you,” that the prayer will not be answered”, “why go to church?”Things that push you away from God. Do not beat yourself up or let the devil do it. The devil has always tried to prevent the coming of the Messiah but already failed and will continue to do so even after all other attempts failed.  The slanderer knoweth that  hath but a little time and spends it to deceive millions of people. When Christ returns the devil’s reign will come to an end.How much more should we all spread the gospel to the poor, just as the Son did. God rested on the 7th day.  Life is precious, parents are precious. Renew your relationships rejoice, you need the Sabbath. Men fail because they are tired, people get to get emotionally collapsed because of this. Devote that special day to Him. Stay healthy and keep your body fit, and may God bless you.

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

As the new year began I could not help but wonder what to look forward to. I took my time last year to catalogue all the personal dissatisfactions from my past, as many of you from all over the city, country and the rest of the world had. Tradition dictates that every 365 days, you should  try to kick bad habits and start your life anew so I sat down with a cup of coffee, a paper a pen and began reflecting. I scanned through my personal goals, the projects I wanted to launch and habits I intended to reform in me. A personal roadmap for the next 12 months, is what I wanted to come up with and this time I'd do it right.

There is hope

Neuroscience now confirms that replacing old habits with default good ones  takes a while, but practice makes perfect. Old habits are hard to break and new habits hard to form. This is because the behavioural patterns we repeat most often are literally etched in our neural pathways. The new study offers hope for those trying to kick bad habits. MIT neuroscientists have identified a small region  of the brain's prefrontal cortex is responsible for moment by moment control of habits at a given time. Therefore, there is  hope of changing habits or even reverting to old ones, good or bad.

The changing world

According to Wikipedia and I quote, "The nature of New Year's resolutions has changed during the last decades with many resolutions being more superficial and appearance-oriented than in previous  times. At the end of 19th century, a typical teenage girl's New Year's resolution was focused on good works. She resolved to become less self centred, more helpful, a more diligent worker, and to improve her internal character, body image, health, diet, and desired possessions were rarely mentioned. At the end of 20th century, the typical teenage girl's resolution is focused on good looks. She wants to improve her body, hairstyle make up and clothing." Currently the most popular new year's resolutions that all teenagers would also try out are attending school more regularly, doing homework more regularly ,healthy course diets, making oneself physically fit, saying no to fast-food and roadside food and finally to volunteer when necessary. .

Among the most popular resolutions in the united states of America include drinking less, eating healthy food, getting a better education, getting better jobs, getting fit, losing weight, managing debts, stress, quit smoking, reduce, re-use and recycle, save money, take a trip, volunteer to  help others. Indeed, these roles in modern life are analogous to a multi-Decker club sandwich that gets all mixed up once you take a bite. The layers in this sandwich are; employee, wife, mother, housecleaner, household comptroller, social director, religious leader.  Just to mention a few. Add a few more and you have the typical life of most women worldwide. What would Moses or Jeremiah have to say about this?

Your Goal

I needed badly to be different. I did not like the person I'd been the last year. I wanted to be a better person. What would be the real method to take care of myself and my loved ones because we are all victims of this modern dilemma? Apparently there is a gradual change in what people consider important, based on the resolutions they make. Are these changes good or bad? It's very evident that things are going from good to worse. Our desperation has become impotent.

Your Predicament and your Odds.

Let us take one more look at our typical teenager's resolutions and look at his resolutions as an adult. Drunkenness, licentiousness, and profanity are on the rise. like a bushfire in a savannah grassland. Resolutions are not being achieved by teenagers and they get into adulthood messed up with debts, lifestyle diseases; developed by the very habits they resolved to drop. The issues of the youth need to be addressed the right way. The question that begs to be asked is this. Before you even attempt this, what are your chances in becoming a model for others?

I needed to know the success rate of those who have tried to do this and have failed so I learn from their mistakes. It's one thing for people to learn from you, and it's another when they learn from your mistakes. I wanted my mistakes to remain in the past, where they belong, and not tagging along like a shadow. So before your life turns out to be a lesson, you have to right the wrongs before the things you have resolved to do different recur on your tidy list of resolutions after every 365 days.

A 2007 study by Richard Wiseman, a psychologist and author with a penchant for mass participation for experiments, involving 3000 people showed that 88% of those who made New year's resolutions fail, despite 52% being confident in the beginning. This makes a scant 12% success rate for all those who make resolutions, confident or not. In the Article "Why do people make New Year's resolutions?" Laurie L Dove sources assert  "While the majority of Americans age 45 and younger plan to make a new Year's resolution, only 28% of those 45 and older will vow  to make changes."

 Clearly, experience trumps hope here.

You cannot wait to be 45 to do this. Chances are, you will repeat the pattern, or you are tired of these cyclical resolutions that have to be made every 365 days.

So Much For the Resolutions

The question that still stands is this, how close are the resolutions we make close to what God would want us to be? We must learn to seek God truthfully. In as much as  God wants the youth to serve Him now, our resolutions are far from what He commands in the bible. Our actions now dictate whether we'll be dealing with problems in future or we'll have a sense of the right perspective on life, having helped others too in this journey enabling them too to get home in the end.

The Big Picture.

What many people who have had this cyclic pattern never learnt in their youth is that life is a journey, not a destination .You are travelling to the promised land. From the cradle to the grave. It is a road, not the country; and those transient enjoyments which you have in this life, lawful in their way,-those incidental and evanescent pleasures which you may sip,-are not home; they are little inns only upon the roadside of life, where you are refreshed for a moment, that you may take again the pilgrim-staff and journey on seeking what is still before you- the rest that remaineth for the people of God. Life is a remarkable and wonderful journey that takes us up and down a road of happiness. What does Christ have to say about your resolutions? "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."Matthew 11:28-30
